In efforts to maintain a specific set of interfaces which can be used in multiple ways, one must make it generic yet versatile with standards and specifications. One cannot vier off too far.
In such event where the specifications cannot be completely met due to lack of competence or imagination, one must use alternatives such as proxies.
Proxies which can transparently compensate for the gaps of inferiority. Lucky for us, they can also be used to enhance the experience by (selectively and covertly) monitoring the procedure in order to attain quality control.
I just made a suite of applications that do cool stuff.
- I made a web page accept an Excel sheet to pass it to a parser.
- I made a parser for a spreadsheet that contains inventory values, adjusting the values on the website to match the spreadsheet. As it’s running, the parser displays its results as an XML document.
- I made a C# app that generates an Excel spreadsheet from Inventory data found in QuickBooks, uploads the spreadsheet to the website (via my page using form variable authentication), parses the XML result, and displays a grid with its results.
Mommy, wow, I’m a big kid now!
On Friday night I received a phone call at 10pm. This was to “invite” me to decorate a Christmas tree. Apparently, comments spoken at our previous gathering have lit a candle revealing a desire for a placable existance. Surely, it was followed by an aftershock condeming my choice.
Does this mean more to me than it does to you?
I quickly and kindly declined the offer. There was much haste and hesitance in my answer. The obstacle was intensified as the proposition exponentially increased. I was sure and sound in my stance, and proceeded to continue with the scheduled program. As plans unfolded the next morning, I contemplated my choice as I was faced with the morning training at hand. Not only was it fuel for the training, but also fuel for psychobabble!
Does this mean more to you than it does to me?
I conferred with a trusted source upon the significance of lated dialog. Perhaps it’s safe to assume that there was an alternate motivation which was rejected soundly. This may bring upon a wealth of subliminal implications as a driving force for future drama.
Check out what I got today:
Vim: Caught deadly signal SEGV
I received this signal while editing two files and attempting to copy a buffer from one file to the other.
What is so complex about that?

Posted on November 13th, 2006I haven’t written anything meaningful, except for the interesting things found on the net.
The socio-political propaganda that has been circulating has been pissing me off. What the f* is this NET NEUTRALITY bull that the cable companies are pushing.

Another recent event was Erik’s birthday, which coincides with election day. That’s the only way I can ever remember Erik’s birthday.
Happy birthday old man! I know it’s my turn next.

Posted on October 27th, 2006So recently I checked out this cool little jazz restaurant in Culver City. I walked in ordered a beer, of course. I sat around looking at the design of the place, quite cozzy. To my surprise when I opened the menu, vegetarian food!
I had an acquaintance that I met whom was a vegetarian. I was kinda surprised since they didn’t look the type that would be a grass-eater; sometimes you can tell by just looking at them if they are grass-eaters or carnivores. So one day, they call me up and invite me to go to lunch (more like a meeting) and asked me for a vegetarian-friendly restaurant [in Culver City]. The only place that I had really known to have meat-alternatives was The Leaf which is just a straight vegan place. Luckly, I got away from the meeting!
So after this experience, I decided to tell my friend Bryan (boc) about the place, since he’s one of them!
Did I mention that the restaurant has live music performing as you are enjoying your eastern-style eats in a dim-candle-lit room?
It’s located on the north side of Washington Blvd, two blocks west of La Cienega Blvd. Parking is on the street.
